Ask what you can do….

,
By Tree AOR I have been in prison for 23 years. A lifetime for some, as I realized the first time I met a kid on the yard who was younger than the date of my arrest. Now there are young men around who are not as old as the tumbler I bought…
overcoming obstacles

How can faith help us survive obstacles?

By Katia Puryear “The strongest oak of the forest is not the one that is protected from the storm and hidden from the sun. It’s the one that stands in the open where it is compelled to struggle for its existence against the winds…

The Word upon the Winds

by Gothi Arinbjorn OR When the shaman awoke, he called to the men and women of his tribe, roused them from sleep, and when they had gathered, he danced and sang his dream. His people sat enthralled and when he had finished, they asked what…

Conception, Perception and Introspection: Perspectives of Blotar

By Vidar / Gungnir Hama AOR The experiences of ritual, and Blotar especially are delegated to the three qualities of epistemology, the philosophy of knowledge; conception (reason), perception (observation or empiricism) and introspection…

The Green Ray in Midgarth

By Gythia Eowyn OR The depression many people experience today is not just sadness: it is a dark night of the soul because the influence of the fylgia in our lives is being severely constricted, if not effectively suffocated. It is integral to the soul of Nature so that there is a synchronous relationship between what we perceive as our own soul and that of the Natural World. Literally, we feel the pain of the natural world.

Points to ponder

By Robert G AOR

It is little wonder that you believe the world revolves around you. After all, you have been at the very center of every experience you have ever had. You are the star of your own movie. You wrote the script. You know how you want it to unfold. You even know how you want it to end. Unfortunately the Wyrd failed to give your script to anyone else.

Creation – A tribute to Hervor OR

,
By Aeswyn OR First published in OR Briefing 224 following the departure of Hervor OR from this realm. I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Hervor and have said that she was an inspiration to me. I now feel that I need to take that statement further to quantify that remark.

An Understanding of the role of Loki in Odinic Mythology

,
By Heimgest DCG
In the myths, the figure of Loki is present throughout the cycle and is only vanquished at Ragnarok. Viewing the myths on the level of our own personal evolution and self realisation, the Ragnarok is representative of our final overcoming of that which stands in our way to attaining that higher evolution, so we see that it is only by overcoming that “enemy” that we are successful in that.

About Industriousness

As OR members, we are expected to live our lives according to the Nine Noble Virtues. Of course, this is not an easy task and it’s even very difficult at times. But we all join the OR by our free will and it’s by our free will that we have accepted to work to promote the OR and Odinism. It’s by our free will that we accept to strive to live by the NNV. Nobody forces us; it’s our own choice. Among the NNV, there is one that I find very important if we want to see our Sacred Faith advance: INDUSTRIOUSNESS

Hail Hervor OR – Katherine ‘Kit’ Kershaw (1930-2012)

On September 13th 2012 ce. one of the Odinic Rite’s finest members passed from this realm. Hervor OR joined the Rite in the 70s along with her husband Asbjeorn. Both had been Odinists before joining the Rite and had long been dedicated and active in advancing our Holy religion and our Folk in both the esoteric and exoteric arenas.

The Runic Era: Some History of the New Awakening

,
By Heimgest DCG We receive many enquiries about OR practices and questions/misunderstandings about the Runic Era are not rare. Here then are the facts.

The 3 Secrets

By Reginhard OR I heard it said once; “If you see a problem in the world, you be the change that solves the problem.” So what I would like to discuss is how do we stand up and be that solution. How can we work towards strengthening our folk.
